Wow. It is so hard to believe that 4 months have past since we traveled to China and returned home with our sweet Bailee girl. I have been such a horrible blogger.
She has changed so much in those four months. We we first got her she wasn't even walking. She started taking steps a few days after we got her. She is now running all over the house. Her newest feat is climbing. She is up our steps in no time flat which induces a stern reprimand. She has figured out the she can get into so much more trouble by climbing up in the dining room chairs and getting things that her brother and sister have left on the table. We call her "Destructo" because she is always getting into things.
She only drank a bottle mixed with formula and cereal for the first few weeks. She would lick things, but would not eat them. Her first food that she reached for more of was a Chickfila chicken nugget. She will now eat most anything except fruit. She loves to drink water, but still enjoys her bottles three-four times a day.
She came without any words and now is talking alot. She says: Dada (not usually Momma :(, hat, up, eyes, ears, hair, hi, hello, wook (look), cup, woah, ut-o (or however you spell it). She sometimes sounds like she is repeating us on other words, but doesn't use them consistently. She babbles all the time.
Bailee loves anything to do with music. She is constantly singing. Her favorite songs are "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "Itsy, Bitsy Spider". Her babysitter has taught her the motions and she is so cute singing them. She just learned "This Little Light of Mine". She plays the piano often. She also loves banging on things. Her singing is often accompanied by dancing. She wore the batteries out on our musical snowman at Christmas.
She has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh at her silly brother and sister. They love her and she has her Gege (big brother) wrapped around her little finger.
We were a little concerned about jealousy from Taylor towards Bailee, but it is the other way around. Bailee does not like her sister to get Mommy's attention. She wants it all for herself.
Bailee has now decided that Daddy is just as fun as Mommy. For a while it was Mommy and only Mommy that she wanted. It is nice to share the love.
Our biggest struggle right now is bedtime. There are many nights that Bailee wants to play around 3-4 in the morning. Mommy and Daddy are tired and we don't want to play in the middle of the night. She shares a room with Taylor so she also wakes her up sometimes. We hope she will start sleeping through the night consistently.
She has had one surgery, 9 doctor's visits (at least-I kind-of lost track),numerous colds, one double ear infection, and 8 shots. She is done until her regular 18 month check-up next month and then nothing until the summer (we hope).
If feels as if she has been with us longer than four months and we are so blessed to have her as part of our lives.
