Introducing Taylor Grace Liqing Weaver

We would like to introduce you to our daughter Taylor Grace who is waiting for us in China. She will be 2 on September 17. We are in the stage of waiting for our Letter of Approval from China. We probably have a little over a month left to wait for that to come. After we get our LOA, we must wait for Travel Approval which could take from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. After we get our TA, we will travel in about 2 weeks. We will be in China for 2-3 weeks. My mom is going to go with us to help out with Jordan. He is very excited to be going to get his new sister soon. P.S. The reason she has no hair is because the orphanage shaves the children's heads because they say is very hot there.

Duck Eggs

We have 8 duck eggs under the bush in the front of our house. I saw the mama duck sitting on the eggs the first few days after she laid them, but she just covered them and hasn’t returned. I guess we will have to wait and see if they will hatch.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had an Easter Egg hunt at my Grandma’s house on Easter with the great-grandchildren.

Riley was a pro at getting those eggs.

Skyler found all three of the bonus eggs to get the extra prizes.

All of the children got bags filled with Easter treats when they were done finding the eggs. Nothing like living in Pennsylvania and having an Easter egg hunt in April in your WINTER coat.

The Grasshopper

Here is a conversation that Jordan and Mommy had on Tuesday as we pulled in the driveway after school
Jordan : Can we get a grasshopper? I really want one.
Mommy: What are you talking about?
Jordan: A grasshopper to cut with.
Mommy: I don’t know what you are talking about. ( I am picturing some kind of lawn trimming device or maybe the Mantis garden thing that I saw on TV.
Jordan: You know-a grasshopper.
Mommy: I really have no idea what you mean.
Jordan: You know-a cricket!
It then dawns on Mommy that Jordan is referring to the Cricut scrapbooking tool that we had watched an infomercial on about two or three months ago
Jordan: Please Mommy. I really want it. Please can we get it!
(Because we have an extra $300 lying around.)
Mommy: Why do you want a Cricut?
Jordan: So I can cut.
Mommy: What do you want to cut?
Jordan: A b-i-g, g-i-a-n-t, number 1!

Needless to say, we won’t be getting a Circuit to cut number 1’s anytime soon, but I told him that my Aunt Jackie has a Cricut and might let him cut a 1 sometime.

Jordan Lost His First Tooth!

Jordan finally lost his first tooth. Last summer I noticed that he had his bottom front right adult tooth coming in behind his baby tooth. When he went to the dentist in August the dental assistant said that it is very common for that to happen. He now has both bottom front adult teeth fully in. On April 3 Jordan let Mommy pull his loose bottom front left tooth. He doesn’t have the typical visible gap in his teeth because he already has that big tooth ready to (hopefully) slide into the empty spot. We now just have to work on that other bottom front tooth which is a little loose.
The tooth fairy had to visit while we were at my Aunt Robbie’s house because we went up to see my cousin Taylor in her high school play “Bye, Bye, Birdie” (she did great, but the play is kind of weird). We had to put the tooth fairy box (thanks Jen for leading that craft) in the hall under a pillow because “the dogs were sleeping in the bedroom with Jordan and Taylor and the tooth fairy might be allergic to the dogs and sneeze” (or Jordan was wired, but Taylor was tired and wanted to go to sleep. She was supposed to put the money in the box after he fell asleep. We came up with the story in order to get the box in the hall where the “Tooth Fairy” [or Mommy] could put the money in). Jordan was excited to wake up to find $5 and a golden dollar in place of his tooth. Daddy was reassured that the tooth fairy only gives that much money for the first tooth and each subsequent tooth will be much less. Mommy thinks that losing your first tooth is super exciting and that’s why the tooth fairy put that much money in the box. The golden dollar was a bonus for being at Aunt Robbie’s house.

Bedtime Stories: A Movie Review by Jordan

We watched Bedtime Stories tonight and here is what Jordan thought of the movie.

Bugsy (the guinea pig) was really funny and his dance was funny. I liked when it was raining gumballs. I liked the part when Bugsy was eating the hamburgers and then running on the treadmill. The best part was the end when the mean man and lady had to get Bugsy some marshmallows and the lady would have to clean his cage. The End

Mommy’s review: The movie was very funny. Contrary to what you might think from Jordan’s review Bugsy is not the only character in the movie. Adam Sandler and other people are in the movie and also have funny parts.

Any Mom Have a Spare Cape?

We were watching TV and a commercial came on that said all moms are superheroes. Jordan starting laughing about that. I asked him, "Is your mom a superhero?"
He told me "No." I asked him why I wasn't a superhero and he told me that it was because I didn't have a cape. I asked him if he would buy me a cape and he told me, "No, because I don't know your size."
